There’s really not much news from our home this month but I wanted to keep in touch and thank you for your prayerful and loving support of all of us.  The Lord seems to have us in a place of waiting on Him and learning to trust Him when everything seems wrong.  Those verses in Habakkuk (3:17-19) about rejoicing in the Lord when everything is going wrong are really something! Please pray that we could have that same testimony through all this because it sure doesn’t feel like it most of the time.  This is a time when we really need your support.  We are hoping and trusting that our day will come when we can be a great blessing to you in return.

Cora continues to be in a lot of pain all the time.  She is taking pain medication but it really can’t touch much of the pain and also produces side effects that we have to deal with.  We continue to look to the Lord for healing but would ask you to pray for her in specific ways as listed below.

On the work front, the modem connection to the regional office is finally working so I can now be of a little more help to our Wycliffe people here.  I also got the job of taking a walk through the Wycliffe building each day to be sure everything is okay (no break-ins, leaking pipes, etc.)  The building was sold to the church next door but closing won’t be until late in the year so I will need to do that for awhile.  I must confess, it is a rather depressing job to walk through the deserted building where I started working in 1981.

Jenny is now working part time for Wycliffe answering lots of questions and doing data entry on her computer at home.  This gives her some income while she stays close by to help me out.  She is also taking a couple of classes on the internet that she is enjoying and most days she takes a little time to play the piano and we all enjoy that!

For a long time the verses about Satan asking permission to have Peter and the disciples to sift them like wheat has been on my heart because it feels like that is where we are right now.  I wasn’t sure where the passage was but when I opened right up to it just now (Luke 22: 31, 32) I felt I should share it with you.  Please pray for us as Jesus did the disciples that we will be restored to a full life by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I’ve enclosed a letter from some very special friends of ours that was a great help and encouragement to us and we thought it would be a blessing to you too.  Again we want to thank you for standing with us. We love you very much.
